The war was rather short. There was a great deal of panic and hysteria initially, followed by sudden death or sighs of relief depending upon whether or not the person in question was in a targetted region. Death claimed millions, whether by nuclear fireball or radioactive fallout. The few survivors who were still conscious of their surroundings enough to watch the reddened sky, lit from below by scattered infernos, swear that they saw the green neon letters "GAME OVER" flash in the sky and then fade away.
